The lessons we offer in
Crisis Leadership
aren’t only relevant to senior executives
or board members of large companies. Even owners
of small businesses or non-profits will likely
find themselves in the position of leading their
organizations and employees through a crisis at
some time in their careers. And many of the same
lessons apply to public and private companies,
non-profits and government agencies.
Crisis Leadership is a primer
that will help you avoid the mistakes that others
have made. And, it offers concrete advice that
will help you become a more effective leader during
any crisis your company may find itself in.
So many people in the consulting field give advice
on leading during a crisis--but where did they
learn to practice what they preach? At Maverick,
our crisis leadership group is directed by Dr.
Martin D. Cohen, a licensed clinical psychologist
who is the Clinical Director of the Tampa Bay
Region Critical Incident Team and on the
task force that developed the State of Florida
Disaster Behavioral Health Response protocol.
Dr. Cohen has worked with Emergency Operations
personnel, first responders in law enforcement,
fire and fire/rescue for over 20 years.
His experience includes the planning, preparation
and response to terrorism attacks, as well
as natural disasters at one of our country’s
largest ports—the Port of Tampa. After
